After completing the design for the new kitchen remodel I worked with the owner of this Pacheco Valley post modern condo to create a more updated and cozy look for his living space. With a mix of new, recycled, and existing pieces we created a unique space that truly reflects his personality and budget.

>Recipes From the Box: Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Cheese

> Quick, easy, and YUMMY!

About 2 weeks ago I received 1 lb. of Klamath Pearl Potatos in my veggie box and promptly stored them in a dark cabinet to prevent premature sprouting. Well after totally forgetting about them I discovered them last night. To my dismay they had started to sprout but not to worry, with a good washing the sprout buds came right off.

1 lb. Klamath Pearl Potatoes
2-3 cloves organic garlic
2 Tbl. butter
Salt to taste
Handful of Quattro Formaggio from Trader Joes
2 Tbl. of fresh chives

Peal or not to peal? I left the peals on, but that’s just me…
Add potatoes to a pot and enough water to cover the potatoes and bring to a boil.
After about 6 minutes stick the potatoes with a fork, if the fork pierces the potato easily then they are ready.
Mince 2-3 cloves of raw garlic
Add boiled potatoes, garlic, and about 1/2c of the hot water to a kitchen-aid. Start on low speed so the whole potatoes don’t fly out, add cheese, salt to taste, and chives. Increase speed until you reach your desired texture and enjoy!

Great as a quick meal or as a side dish to your favorite fish or roasted veggie!

>The Kitchen

The owner of this Pacheco Valley condo loves to cook but was cramped in the original design. We maximized the space by adding a tray ceiling, extending both upper and lower cabinets, and increased storage and counter space by grouping the pantry and refrigerator on one wall. The cabinets were  refinished to a frame-less style paint grade and new counter, tile, and appliances  were added for an updated look.

The Master Bedroom
The ceiling was vaulted in the master bedroom taking advantage of unused attack space and allowing for a skylight to be added over the owners new-to-you Eames Lounge. Skylight: $300., lightly used Eames original: $2000., creating the owner’s favorite spot to star gaze: Priceless.
